ONE OF THE OTHER EFFECTS OF WINTER IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST; especially where there is water, soft ground and high winds to begin with is that mother nature has a tendency to prune out that which is not going to survive anyway.    Then in the springtime, guys like me who are pining to get outside can come along and practice our craft before time and the elements take care of the trimmings.

Makes me wonder so many times what is so compelling about fallen trees. They draw the eye.
