Waiting For The Light To Fall

SPRING IS COMING! SPRING IS COMING!  It has been raining for the past several days now and it is likely to continue to do so continuously for the next week……and I think that it GREAT!!  Temperatures in the forties and rain mean that the snow is melting off and soon there will be warmth and light and color in abundance.  I am so ready.   If you have followed here for any length of time, you know that I love being out in nature shooting landscapes, animals and water.   One of the things that I love to do occasionally is to go out in the morning light after the golden hour into areas of the mountains that are so densely grown, the harsher sunlight does not make it through into the forest floor (mostly).   I love searching for the areas where the sun does manage to break through but only partially.  When touching only a portion of a plant, a tree, or a growth,  there is a feel to it that cannot be described in words.    I have posted images from these walks here, here and here.

Today’s image is even more telling of how much difference light can make on a subject as it is only five inches long and has light on three of those but not the other two.   It reminds me of the rain storm that occurs across the street from your house while the sun is out at yours.
