Weekly Photo Challenge: Celebration

I KNOW THAT I’M A LITTLE LATE GETTING IN HERE this week with the photo challenge posting but as I’m sure you know, sometimes life gets in the way of the things that we really want to do.    This weeks subject at the WordPress Challenge was CELEBRATION and although I have a plethora of images that contain happy faces lifting glasses and singing Auld Lang Syne, I wanted to be a little more subdued.

This weeks image is one of several that I have shot at the Jeff Jones Town Square in Sandpoint, Idaho.   At this time of the year, the entire downtown area is lit up with Christmas lights and town square is where the Christmas tree is located.   Of all the images that I shot there in the past month, this is the one that came with a message.    This single red light in and of itself is a beautiful depiction of the Christmas spirit.   This single bulb though is also part of the greater whole; that string of thousands of lights that when ignited, transforms an inanimate object into a symbol of peace, of hope and of love.

This bulb is us and we are part of the greater whole.  That’s what it’s really all about.

Merry Christmas
