My First Portrait Shoot

Not so long ago, my friend Tami asked me to shoot some portraits of her for a scrapbook that she was putting together.  On April 9, 2011, we got together and I did my first portrait shoot.   For someone who claims she was a little camera shy, she warmed up to it very fast.   What a great day and what a great model.    Thanks Tami for making my first experience a total success!

  2. I am hoping to try my hand soon at this style of work. Top drawer results here Mike! She’s a natural subject and your composition is very sympathetic to her! Awesome.

  3. Thanks for the comments Toad. I think that there was a little apprehension on the part of both of us. What worked well is that we’ve known each other for a lot of years and allowed us to be a little more silly than most photo shoots will allow. This also translated very well into the shots….at least I think so. In then end, she was very happy and that is what was important.

  4. Nice to see how it turned out, interesting what a first portraiture session can do for you isn’t it.

    • thanks for the visit. It was a fantastic learning experience for me and fortunately for me, my model was very patient when I wanted to try something different.
