Dog Days Of Summer
IT’S MID-DAY AND I FIND MYSELF WANDERING through one of the local parks. The high temperature has climbed over 25 degrees in the last week and as I admire the jungle gym for it’s plethora of geometric possibilities; I can’t help but feel empty. The little hands that should be gripping the edge of the slide, clinging onto the climb rope or grasping from one bar to the next are missing. The little feet that go a thousand miles per hour around the playground are but a daydream. The best part of a trip to the park is the laughter of children but yet today, silence.
Oh the dog days of summer…

Ah the dog days indeed…
